Freefly has been focused on building the world's most efficient professional drone and filming ecosystem for the last decade. They went from a garage startup to powering the majority of film and tv productions in under 5 years. While their early focus was film and video, they realized along the way their drones could do so much more. 

Astro

Astro is Freefly’s compact industrial drone platform.

Freefly understands the need for quality tools. For more than 10 years Freefly aircraft have carried cinema cameras for Hollywood and high-end productions around the world. It carries valuable payloads in high-pressure situations. We also understand the need for flexibility. Astro’s interface specs are open, making it a flexible and reliable tool to get your new ideas in the air.

Each Astro Map includes the the basis of your Mapping drone kit:

1. Astro Base airframe* (simple tools, and some spare bits)
2. 61MP Mapping Payload (Quick-detach, vibration isolated Freefly gimbal Sony Alpha 7R IVA Sigma 24mm f3.5 lens)
3. The Freefly Pilot Pro controller (Herelink RF)

*Astro needs a minimum of 2 SL8 Batteries and 2 SL8 Chargers to fly, which are not included in this kit and need to be purchased separately.

Notes

• Pilot skill with Manual Mode is required for Emergency Procedures. 
• Astro uses two Freefly  per flight (not included in this kit). We recommend 4 SL8 batteries and 2 SL8 Fast Chargers to get flying.

• LTE modem works in the United States only.
